    PS2 A/V pinout

Does anyone know the pinout for the A/V connector on the back of the Playstation 2 consoles? I want to make a monitor cable for a spare LCD panel I have.

    Enjoy .

Also they do make VGA converter boxes for this where you can adjust the contrast and brightness signals before they go into your monitor.

I know Sony made a very simple cable for them.
It came bundled with the PS2 Linux package.

Unfortunately the package now costs an arm and a leg (and possibly your other leg)

Oh wow that brings back memories.

I forgot about that release I installed a Xenium mod chip and got Gentoox (a modified version of Gentoo) running on an Xbox once.

That cable only worked when the PS2 booted into Linux it won't work when playing games unfortunately.

Here is a guide to make what you are looking for:

It won't be a simple cut and solder job unless your monitor has sync on green.

You will need an LM1881M and some caps if your monitor doesn't.

The LM1881M is a sync separator that will output the sync signal your non SOG monitor needs.

There are quite a few LCD panels out now that support Sync on Green. It is not much of a hassle for me.

Speaking of that, If I can find the DVDs elsewhere I'm going to cross my finger and hope that giving it a different hard drive works no problems.
I always hear people say that this and Final Fantasy XI only work on sony-branded drives.

                Excellent!
Turns out that the spare AOC LM729 LCD panel I have is compatible with the PS2.
I'll get to work on this and see what happens.
