    Looks like I should take out as much as possible and replace with Panasonic FK then.

      Panasonic FK are great for PSU use. Wish I could get them here.
      The FK series has a 2700uF 10v and a 2200uF 16v that are 10mm.

        Wow, I'm really surprised. Seems you can only get the SMT type.

        Thanks for your help. Is there anything you would recommend reading about this subject?

        I'm just starting out on my electronics course... give me time. Sorry for the hijack!

          And 3300uF 6.3V 10mm that I use for 5V and 3.3V

            Farnell has them in Europe but they charge too much to ship to the US.
