Netgear DG834GV - bad CapXon units

In the Serviceman's Log in Silicon Chip, March 2009, there was a wireless ADSL router with bad capacitors (two 330uF 10V units). They appeared to be general-purpose units.
Replacing these capacitors fixed the problem.

There was also a "Mailbag" letter in the same issue about bad electrolytic capacitors.
My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

I wonder if the issue will ever truly be brought to light.

It would be great if we started seeing japcaps all over the place again. I was looking in some new Yamaha receivers at the store and they all had Jamicon caps in it. Very unlike Yamaha to make cheap crap like that
