    Panel swap fail: Image reddish

I had an LG Flatron L204WS with broken LCD panel and today I got a LG Flatron L207WT that missed a power supply. I took the panel of the L207WT and used it on L204WS. The display works but the image has some artifacts.

Can you tell me what is wrong? Can the panel die like that? Is the signal board bad? I have no experience with this.

Are the t-con boards the same? If not, see if they will interchange. You;re using a panel with different numbers, so there's some kind of difference apparently.... The t-con board is what drives the panel, so if they are too numbered differently but plug in the same (check that very carefully before trying), that may clear it up.

You have to get the LCD panels spec to compare the pinout of both panels.

They look compatible to me. I upload photos of the 2 panels.

            Same pinout:

Cannot find V.1, V.8 has the same pinout as VC.

So I do not know why you have the problem.

Double check all your ribbons on your t-con cable connections. I had a TV do this to me, except it was green and artifacting.... Reseated everything and it went away.....or perhaps thats why that monitor was parted out, the pane is bad in the first place.

Re: Panel swap fail: Image reddish

I disassembled and reassembled everything and the problem was solved. I also used tape to secure the cables.

I was not impressed with the image quality, but after several hours messing with monitor controls and gamma through windows I find it acceptable

This is going to be my everyday pc's monitor, replacing a 17 inch Samsung 710N that served me great :-)

                Thank you for your advice!

                  One Su'scon capacitor bulged.

I found out 1 week ago while I was aiming with my flashlight through the ventilation holes of the screen chassis.

                  I did a full recap:
