    Opinion needed for server motherboard

    Hello everyone,

I've been lurking here for some time and I thought it was high time I go ahead and register.

Whats everyone's opinion of the following motherboard:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...51169&Tpk=q35t

From zooming in I can see that all but 2 of the caps are Rubycons.

I would stick with an all solid cap motherboard, but for my home server I want something with integrated graphics, and dual gigabit is a plus.

Adding a graphics card to a solid cap motherboard adds about 60 watts to the equation.

EDIT: woops, wrong topic, typical n00b mistake

    Tyan boards are generally good.
Occasionally they use Chemicon KZG or KZJ but I didn't see any.

With a little patience you can get an Intel S5000PSL [or variant] on eBay for ~$50.
Supports Dual socket 771 Xeon's. Needs fully buffered RAM. Needs a huge case.
has on-board video and 2x Gigbit LAN.
Has PCI-E and PCI-X slots on independent PCI Buses. [Not sharing the bus bandwidth.]
PCI-X RAID cards a enough cheaper to offset the other high cost items.
The 51x8 Xeons [like 5138, 5148 for example] only use 35-40 watts.
[You don't HAVE to use two CPUs just because the sockets are there.]
    .
I -DON'T- see any good deals on those ~today~ but there are some often enough.
I've bought 3 at different times in the last 6 months and each was around $50.

      Thanks,

I wasn't aware there were xeons with such low wattage ratings.

I wish I could get my hands on an l3110.
