    Service Mode on Samsung LE32A436T1D

    Hi Guys,

Does anyone know how to get into service mode on the Samsung LE32A436T1D/XXU? Ideally with just the TV buttons as my sister cant find the remote!

You need any Samsung remote. You cannot do it from the buttons.

Put TV in standby then press Info Menu Mute Power.

Hi, Thank you, the issue is the picture quality/Colour. A friend had same fault and found by going into service mode he changed a setting called "DRR LINE" and the pictures has been fine for the last year. I went into service mode and could not see it so did a factory reset, still the same so added some pics guys. Any thoughts?

The service mode screen the colours are fine and all looks good. The next image is a green snow screen that is the screen between chapters when a DVD is played. The next is the dream works screen and the colours seem ok, but the next one is from the actually film and they look terrible and a tad blurred.

Gamma fault I'll bet; post a picture of the T-con board. Has nothing to do with service menu.

I need to be able to see the little test points on the board, but it looks like you have AS15 gamma IC which commonly fails (righthand 48 pin QFP.)

OK, see the points marked GM1...GM14 (not all may be available) check the voltage on each, red probe on point, black probe on chassis, TV powered on.

AS15 Gamma chip going out! Sammy took a droplet of acid /wink. Looks like T-con failure!

                          Hi Tom and Budm,

Thank you so much I have ordered the IC, cant wait for it to arrive as I love doing micro soldering jobs. Can I ask a question what told you it was faulty? was it one of the voltage readings? If so which one and what should it be? Just trying to develop my knowledge on TV's.

GM7 is bad, but in general, for future reference a quick test is the voltages must count down in one direction i.e. 1,2,3,4V is OK, 4,3,2,1V is OK, 4,2,3,1V is NOT OK.
