Using a ceramic buzzer as computer speaker ?

    Hi All,

I have a motherboard which has no built-in buzzer. As far as I know, typically, an electromagnetic buzzer is used in this case. Is it possible to use a ceramic buzzer instead ?
    Any opinions appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

just desolder a buzzer from a dead board and add 2 wires pulled from a junk case.

Those have very high impedance compared to a regular speaker, so don't expect much volume.

Thank all of you very much. All your opinions are very useful.

As for regular electromagnetic buzzer, I have already got some pieces. The situation is that I want to learn about an alternate ability. What I wonder is that using ceramic buzzer can harm the motherboard or not. I do not dare try to plug it in to test.

Try it on an old junk motherboard first (?!)
