This is my first post, after having learned (or tried to learn) much from you all. Truly a great resource and community.
I am trying to repair an Acer AL2416w sd that would start up, show the word "ACER" then a black screen and the power light would change from green to yellow. I had no dim image using a flashlight. None of the caps on the 3 boards are domed or "look" bad.
I followed the other threads about this monitor, and decided that, even though there was no visual evidence of failure, I would replace the caps on the power board. Lo and behold, progress! Now the power button stays green and there is a dim image when using a flashlight. So I am left with 2 possibilities (I think). The inverter board or backlight bulb(s).
I think I am getting close to my limit on diag skills here and could use a little help determining which. It looks like there are 6 bulbs on this model. Could one bad bulb cause this? How do I test a bulb? Continuity?
All the caps on the inverter board "look" ok. Can someone point me in the right direction? I'm not sure about the MOSFETs (or even which ones they are). Yeah, I'm a little green.
TIA
PS I've attached photos of the inverter board.
