Hey everyone i recently picked up a junk 27 inch imac from my job and it seems to have a bad power supply, checked the caps and they are fine and are a good brand, i do have a couple of questions, first is do these normally go bad and if so is it possible to repair them? second can a power supply from a 2010 model 27 inch imac work in a 2011 model?

The power supplies in the late 2009, mid 2010 and 2011 model iMacs are the same for each size, i.e. 27" power supply are the same for all 27" iMacs, and 21.5" power supply are the same for all 21.5" iMacs.Comment
