    CFL base to test CCFL?

Will the circuit in the base from a CFL with busted glass work to test CCFL tubes?

Interesting idea. I never tried it.

PS. I saw this question in the "2 seconds to black" thread, but I'm trying not to clutter that thread up and leave it just for updates and new revisions.

If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.

We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.

Please do not post inline and offsite as they slow down the loading of pages.

budm did the opposite and used a good CFL as a sub for a ccfl. I'm sure he's tried what you're suggesting and will give us his findings when he see's your thread.

I realized I cluttered the "2 sec" thread too late, I'm sorry. I see no way to delete it though.

Yeah I read that and it's what got me thinking about it.

The circuits in the CFL will need 120V to run and it is based on CFL lamp with filament type setup to get it to fire up instead of using high voltage to fire up the lamp with just the electrodes inside as CCFL required, so it will not work with Cold CFL lamp.

            Thanks.
Your using a CFL bulb on a CCFL inverter output works because you shorted the heaters and made it function as a CCFL, correct?

The filaments become just electrode and the high voltage is high enough to ionize the gas in the lamp.
