Sony GDM-20SE2T5 (Multiscan 20SE II) picture disappears
I've been given this monitor for free just before New Year's party, by one of the guests at the party. It behaves as follows: it starts up with no picture, then it shows up, then it goes away again and so on. It's like 2 minutes on 5 minutes off. The picture looks very good when it's on.
I thought this was a problem with the tube heater but no, heater stays on. Same for all other voltages relevant to the CRT. After the picture has showed up once, when it disappears the display doesn't go fully blank, you can see faint outlines of the picture in dark grey. So i think the problem is on the signal board and not in the power supply or tube electronics.
