Samsung 245BW, Black Screen, Blue LED

I've read alot of threads w. people having the same problem

    1. Black Screen
    2. Blue LED comes on

so far, it seems like the resistors are the problem rb805.

I am a total newbie with electrical jargon. Never soldered, dont have the equipment to do so. If this is a simple fix that I can do myself, please instruct me on how to do so.

If you know a place in long island/queens in NY that can fix this, i'd appreciate that.

    Thank you

    Thank you
Type 245BW into the search facility above. There is one huge thread
    and a few smaller ones.

First hurdle is getting into the set - instructions with pictures are in the Big thread.
Second Hurdle there is more than one power supply board in this set you need to establish which you have.
Thirdly main problem on the 173a board is 3 resistors which fail (as you mention) the other boards mainly have bad caps.
Read the threads, open your set, post good clear pictures and someone will advise.( I am away for a few weeks so wont be me)
Have you got a multimeter and soldering equipment.
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Would buying this be enough for the job to change out the resistors?

If you alread have one then it may be ok it is just 30 watts I think and may not get hot enough - If you dont have one then try to get one that is 40 watts.

The resistors wont do IF they are burnt out - remember they were 1 watt - so 0.5watt is just going to burn away. most people use 2.5 or 3 some manage to squeeze in a 5 watt

okay so my local radio shack only carried 68 ohm 1/2W, so no go there.

I looked online and found this. Is this okay?

              http://www.amazon.com/Amico-500V-Met...words=68ohm+3W

and i was planning on buying this kit while ordering from amazon because of the positive reviews
