Asus VE245H 2 seconds to black.

    Hi,

I'm trying to fix an Asus VE245H with the wonderful 2 seconds to black problem. I already fixed a Samsung T240 with the same problem with the help of this forum.

I've tried to troubleshoot it with the 2 seconds to black thread but I got confused.

The power board is a little different than the T240 so I'm lost again and need your help. I've used the search feature of the site to see if anyone had done work on the Asus VE245H but didn't find anything and here I am creating a new post. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Are the lamp wires ok, or do they have any arcing or burnt spots?

Have you tested the resistance of the secondary(s) of the high voltage ccfl transformer?

Have you tested the voltage going to the lamp invertor? These voltages usually are 12 volts or 24 volts.

The lamps wires don't seem to have any damage.

I need guidance with testing the resistance of the secondary high voltage ccfl transformer and testing the voltage going to the lamp invertor.

      Thanks for replying.

        Same monitor....
I did find a burned spot on the top connector(see pic).
Is this just a matter of a bad connection in the plug or too high of a current that finds it's way out through the weakest point???

I fixed the connector but the arcing started occurring where ever it felt like

So,curiosity got the better off me and I dis assembled the entire screen digging for the ccfl's and this is what I found>>>>see pic...

Can one buy these ?are they model specific?

Did replacing the CCFL solve your problem? I have the same issue with my monitor. Can you tell me which CCFL you ordered?

Any update on this? I have the same monitor with similar problem. It's a backlighting problem but mine goes black a split second after it comes on not the two seconds I have been hearing about.
