Default Nvidia 8500GT video card swollen caps

I put a PC together for my grandson and it started having problems about a year later.

Opened it up and saw the swollen capacitors on the video card ... :-(

I can get his PC back to him farely quick ... I have other video cards that are actually better.

But I want to replace these capacitors and hopefully not find out the bulging capacitors screwed up the other components on this video video.

Actually I just recently in past 3 weeks been greeted with 3 other PCs with bad capacitors in them ... the video cards.

All with the beginning letters FZ

So ... on the AXLE 8500GT video card ... the letters and numbers are ...

FZ81 ... 1500 uf ... 6.3v ... there are 4 of them ... one is not swollen.

There are two more ... not swollen ... yet ... FZ78 ... 1000 uf ... 16v

Its a decent video card and my grandson was happy with it ... his is 20 years of age.

So guys ... with the selection I can choose from Badcaps store ... what am looking for ??

The capacitors look like the swollen caps at this link ... http://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8413

Thanks for your help ... mach10

And yes ... I do know how to solder ... been doing it for years ... I'm near sighted and see very well up close ... with my glasses off ... LOL.

The capacitors with FZ on them are FZ series capacitors made by Sacon

They have a really horrible reputation on this site - they are so bad they will either explode or leak their guts eventually
You will have to replace all the capacitors that have FZ on them.

Replace with Nichicon HN or HZ from the Badcaps store.

Thank you for your reply ... now I have a starting point ... I'm totally
disappointed with AXLE for making so many video cards using these cheap capacitors.

They're not "making" them.

They just went to a company that makes video cards with no branding, and put their brand on them.
They most likely had no word in parts selection for the cards.
