OK, there are four red circle in the LF1 box I marked, what resistance do you get between the two top circles, and between the two bottom circles? Are you sure that the legs of the LF1 are making contact with the copper pads and no breaks in the solder pads? Hard to believe that both coils are open, you can see the coil symbol printed on the circuit board.

      Hi Budm,

I have just removed LF1 and double checked both coils are Open Circuit. On closer inspection you can see "blackening" under/inside the coil of the lower coils, look at the bottom corner around 5 oclock. I have tried to get pic as close as I can, the top coil looks OK.

Ignore the defined black mark on the top coil that was so I put it back in the correct orientation.

Something must have happened to the coil as per the other pic I have reattached showing inside the rear cover, looks like something went bang!

        Re: Toshiba 24d1334b2....vestel!!

So the mark is directly below it?
You could rewind the coil but it's probably not worth it. You would need some magnet wire, a steady hand and good patience.

Hi, The mark is directly behind LF1 on the inside of the rear cover. So looks to be it went bang! can you buy LF1?

Or would it be better to buy a new PCB?

You can jump the choke for now to verify that the TV is still functioning, the choke is required for the compliance to pass the conductive noise test.

                Hi Budm,

Good idea just linked the two sets with some wire and still dead so I guess there is more to this that first thought. Wonder if worth checking out voltages etc, or just get new PCB?

You have to search for TOROIDAL COMMON MODE CHOKE, you will need to find the inductance rating, the current rating is probably 2~3 A range. You may be able to go by the dimension. Do you have any access to electronics recycle places?

                      Hi Budm,

OK I will search ebay, RS online and CPC etc. to find it, just out of interest what would happen if I leave it out?

When you say electronics recycling places, do you mean the companies who strip down TV's and sell the parts?

Nothing, its purpose is to filter out the noise from the switching power supply from injecting noise back into the power line, at the same time it also reduces the noise form the AC line from injecting into the TV POWER SUPPLY.

Hi, I Purchased a new PSU with intention of removing the coil and fitting to my PSU, the PSU I purchased was not the same version and was laid out different, stupidly I just forgot what I was doing and fitted the new PSU switched the set on and had sound and a black screen! I realised thinking maybe a different version would not light the screen so I removed it from the TV removed the coils and fitted to original PSU fitted it and I have the same! sound and no picture! help!! is it likely to have blown the main PCB? or damaged the panel?

                          Thank you guys

Check the supply to the backlight inverter or LED strip. Check cables firmly and securely seated. Since you have sound main board probably working (not guaranteed but good chance)

                                    Hi Tom,

I have removed and refitted the ribbon cable from the main PCB to the top of the screen. I have checked the fuse on small PCB next to the PSU.

Can you help with where and what I am expecting to test the backlight inverter/LED strip please.

I don't really do that many LED TV repairs so can't suggest much beyond obvious testing of fuses and power supply outputs.

OK, so what DC voltages do you have on those 4 caps close to the LED driver black connector?
Can I also see the pictures of all the boards to see how they are all connected together?
