HP Pavilion DV5 not charging

Hello,

I have this lap top and common signs "charger plugged in, but not charging"

It could not start with battery and without charger. I measured voltages on bat, connector and there are few of them with around 3v. Is it normal and what do you think, is it charging chip or battery failed?

try to use other adapter...i think the central pin of ur adapter is failed...

I have an HP eny15 which has a similar problem. The battery doesnt get charged and neither does the laptop run on charger. What could be the issue? I heavily speculate the charging IC or Power IC chip. Will open it up today for a closer check and then update.

It is not adapter because it works on it, it doesn't work when I remove it. It is or battery or charger chip

Ok guys, talking about my hp envy 15 laptop. There was a problem with the power ic -RT8206B. I reseated it with new bga solder, then re-flowed the ATI gpu and wallah! The laptop booted and worked perfectly. Details about the IC.
