Basically in this thread there are present some knowledgeable people with different start points, which care to assist you with some worthy feedback.

Use us if you care for a second opinion of some value, but gives us pictures.
We do not even know if what ever you are holding there is an Genuine MAKITA battery.
That is a good point actually. There are too many assumptions and not enough facts.

Another good point is that the battery can be fake. I have had a few cordless tool batteries taken apart, all of them were 1.2V nicad/nimh. I would be very surprised if i found 12 1.2V cells inside and it would say li-ion on them

I would like to a photo of this battery pack if not to much trouble to this

The thermal cut out switch operates at a set temperature and goes open circuit to switch off the charger.
This is not a Li Ion battery pack I know I repair these Li Ion battery pack
In ALL the one I repaired They ALL have a board in them on top of the batteries

If you want to use these batteries you will ned to use this type of board Protection Circuit Module PCM 14.4V/14.8V LiIon battery This is a must
      http://www.ebay.com/itm/Protection-C...item4aa338a6fa

I can tell you these cells are fake

You have bought the wrong Batteries you need to buy LI ION Battery that has the protection board built in to them like this one
      http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-2X-Panas...-/330634383068

You could do this if you had the right batteries and you limit the the current
to 500 milliamps HOWEVER I would NOT use the batteries that you bought to do this you are asking for problem

As other have point out to you before

Here is a test you can do to see if they are real 4500mA

Take [4] @ 50 watt @12 volt light bulbs and see if it light for 1 hour and the battery voltage stay at least 3.00 volt if it dose not they are FAKES

I buy LI ION Battery on E bay before BUT I will only buy Panasonic or Sanyo or Samsung or Shaft The rest are crap
