I am trying to fix my neighbors TV and I suspect it is the display. It has sound and no video there is backlights and a green power light. The pico fuse FP1 on the T-Com board was bad so I bought a replacement T-Com board. I checked the new/used boards fuse and it was good so I installed it and still no video. I pulled the new board and the fuse was blown now. I installed the original and connected a temp external 3A fuse and still no video and now no back lights. I disconnected the FPC_right ribbon cable and the right side was all white and the left side had menu messages. i then connected only the FPC_left ribbon and when I connected the temp fuse the back lights would go out and no picture. Same results with both cables connected. I suspect its something in the display itself that is drawing to much on the right side but I do not understand why the temp external glass 3A fuse does not blow and when both ribbons are connected and I have the fuse connected I loose the backlights. Are there any components in the display that can be replaced? There is a narrow pcb along the top that the ribbon cables connect to but I can only see it from the edge Any help is greatly appreciated. Could the problem be elsewhere or does it sound like the display is bad and un repairable?
Thanks
