    Hi all,capacitor 1000uf 16v 105oc can I use 1000uf 16v 85oc ?

    Re: Capacitor question

The difference in the two capacitors is one is rated at 85 degrees centigrade and the other is 105 degrees. You could use the higher rated cap to replace the 85 degree one, but not the other way around in my opinion.

      Re: Capacitor question

Is it being used in switching power supply? If it is, then you will also need to get low ESR type which is more likely to be rated at 105c also.

          Re: Capacitor question

Buy one from CPC. Will cost less than £1 with free delivery on ANY order.
Search "1000uf 16v fc" for example will find a high quality Panasonic FC replacement.
Don't risk it with old caps and salvaged caps they can be bad and also "voltage formed".
