lap top won't boot. it powers on, shows POST info, detect drives, and then nothing happens. it just don't do anything. it can be turned off on button normaly, it doesn't freeze or lock it just do nothing.
I suspect on bios, but can't flash it. does anyone had something like this? |

Have you checked the boot order?
Will it boot from a cd or usb Have you tried the hard drive in another machine to see if it boots. What is it meant to run? Windows? |

I checked everything and everything works (hdd, odd, memmory)
when it is done with POST it should try to boot. If there is bootable device it should boot from it and if it is not it should write message that it can't find boot device. nothing of this is happening, just POST screen stay on display. |

I asked in case you had not seen this: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB85017Z0000R01.htm As the L40-170 has a SATA-Hard drive with no compatible mode. WinXP will not natively recognize it. Did you try booting from a cd?. |

yes it should run windows. It is not OS issue. It doesnt boot anything.
