Picked it up for free. Really nice unit and it even has an HDMI port but alas, there was a reason it was free...
![]() There is that nasty yellow ring in the middle of the screen. I'm getting reports it's something ranging from dust to a cooked LCD. Regardless, it's nasty and it would be soo much better to use this over my other TV with a case of the greens. If it's too expensive, I'll move it outside to the curb as my roommates won't appreciate it.

common issue and i hear there is a number to call to hitachi where they will send the blue panel free.

Ooh! That would be awesome if I got a free replacement.
I'll poke arund Hitachi Canada and see if they come up with anything but if anyone knows the number, I would like to know it. |

No. the best I got from tech support was "well I hope you didn't pay too much for it" and the address of a repair shop which will fix it at full-cost. |

Yeah, I called again and they are not helping at all (and I must say they are pretty rude when they conclude the issue with me). Looks like it's staying this way. |
