Default [Solved] Dell Vostro 1310 bad DVI video cable

Recently fixed my friend's laptop:

The screen had weird red flickering corruption on certain angles of the screen, which I thought at first looked like GPU memory failure, but then when noticing a black line down the left hand side I thought was panel failure...

However upon disassembling the screen assembly and fiddling with the DVI cable it became apparent there was an intermittent problem in the cable where it enters the hinge (and gets twisted all the time)

Replacing the cable ($20 from eBay) solved the problem (at least I guess until the hinge-twisting breaks the new one, too)
