Question Animated Avatars???

I just went to my UserCP to update some infoes, and upload an avatar I normally use on forums. Low and behold, vBulletin informs me that I cannot use animated pictures. However, I know I've seen others using them...What gives???

it was grandfathered in.....anyone with an animated avatar before the last vB upgrade kept theirs. Its disabled by default on this version of vB. Of course, staff members can have them.... Normally, they're bandwidth hogs...

Either way, just make sure Junk Parts doesn't loose his (and if he does that it's restored back) .

So folks at vBulletin thinks animation is hostile like HTML code is, so always disabled by default since 3.8.x? Sorry, but it looks like vBulletin's policies are draconian.
Looks like they went off the deep end.

Maybe vBulletin's corporate fatcat management has some GSCs!

(I can understand if it's 2003, when almost everybody had 56K!)

Looks like they are ASSuming that they're gonna be a product of board attacks.

The concern is bandwidth at the server, not YOUR connection.

Yeah, I know. I'm not a one-sided dimwit. Just not too happy with the update change at vBulletin's end.

I don't see how anyone can have a problem with defaults for settings the webmaster can change if he/she wants to.
