Yuyang YP2632T: oil from cap ?

    Hi all.
I have an LG LCD TV model 26LX2R.

When I have removed the power supply, i have noted some oil in back of the PCB.
I have alreay readed here that samxon caps have this problem after they bulg.

The question is that I cannot see any bulged cap.

Can you help me with some advise to find the bulged cap ?

    Image of the board

    Thank you

The cap right next to the Yuyang text is suspect, and caps can leak through the bottom seal as well.

      Thank you for you advice.
I have removed C133 cap but I can see no oil under it. It seems clean.

With a ohm tester it seems to charge before going in open-circut.
Is it possible to test its goodness ?

To test a capacitor you will need at least an ESR meter.

Most failures in capacitors cause high ESR which leads onto critical components not functioning correctly.

It may also be useful to have a capacitance meter. This meter can be bought standalone or it can be part of a multimeter.

Some failures of capacitors cause the capacitance of the capacitor to drop below the tolerance for the component. This does not happen very often because capacitors (especially the electrolytic variety) have a large tolerance range and this is taken into account within the circuit. Capacitance type failures are usually uncommon (in comparison to ESR type failures).

          Ok.
I have removed some suspect caps and then put back them again (the same !).
I have replaced a Samxon 2200uF 10V (this seems to be a very problematic one) with a Daewoo equivalent one (I guess).

Than i put back PSU in the tv and now the lcd power on very well !!
          But only one time !!
On the next times... the 5VSB-led turns off slowly when I press the ON/OFF butto on the lcd for some seconds.

May I be sure that the problem is some capacitor?

          Thank you.

            For all.
I have replaced every caps on the board.
            Now, it works very well.
            Thank you all.

Are you using quality capacitors from our badcaps capacitor list not just blithely replacing it with another crappy capacitors?

              Cheers, Wizard

He said he replaced those with daewoo's, so I'm guessing he will have the same problem soon enough.
