acer v193w no power need help

Hi all, i have acer v193w lcd monitor, but the problem now is no power. I have replaced all electrolytic caps except big caps 100uf 450v coz no stock. But i expect the big caps is ok. Below i attach picture of power supply board and schematics with voltage value which i have measure.

    Thanks for your response.

Hi all, i have acer v193w lcd monitor, but the problem now is no power. The output voltage from the power supply board can`t get real voltage it should be. The 14V rails i get only 9.3V, 5V rails only 2.6V. To confirm if the power supply or the mainboard have problem, I used 24V light bulb in the 14V output line, an ON the power, no light appear, that means power supply itself have problem. I have replaced all electrolytic caps except big caps 100uf 450v coz no stock. But i expect the big caps 100uf 450V is ok. Below i attach picture of power supply board and schematics with voltage value which i have measure.

    Thanks for your response.

Is the IC Vref Diode a through hole IC? Take it out and measure the resistance on all 3 leg combination, you may have bad ref diode IC904 (TL431).

Hi, budm, yes its through hole IC with 3 pin leg. I have measure all pin with analog mmeter and results is.

          black probe....................red probe....................result
          1......................................2........................16K ohm
          1......................................3..........................8K ohm
          2......................................1..........................8K ohm
          2......................................3..........................6K ohm
          3......................................1.....................5000K ohm
          3......................................2.......................300K ohm

so if the IC904 is bad, would it damage the others component near the IC.?

If that IC904 is bad due to leakage between the Anode and Cathode, it will cause the output voltage to be low, the more that Opto isolator is turn on the less voltage will be on the outputs. I would try replacing.

Thanks for the repair feedback, so the SMPS IC is bad, good to know.

                  -BUMP-

Hello everyone, I'm a new member. I am an electrician and I've been troubleshooting this same model monitor at work. This is the first, and so far only, helpful thread I've come across.

Same issue, it won't power up.
The service manual that I've found for this model references a completely different main board - mine is a model 715G3350-1-2.

I have 120V AC up to the bridge rectifier, BD901 (part KBP208G). However, I'm reading 160 VDC across the DC +/- pins. (or +80 and -80 to ground). I also read 80 VDC at Q901 (part K4101).

That seems way out of whack to me, though I don't know what it should be because I lack the correct schematic.
                  Appreciate any feedback!

That would be correct if the monitor does not have PFC and no voltage doubler circuit (which would require two large capacitors)
                    120VAC x √2 = 169VDC

No need for a schematic. These PSUs tend to be fairly simple... or at least if/once you've worked on a few.

The voltage on the big cap on the primary side seems correct, as Per mentioned. So check the voltage on the output side, at the connector that goes between the PSU board and the main/logic board. Usually these monitors supplies have a 5V rail and then a 12-15V rail for the inverter. The 5V rail should read very close to 5V. The 12-15V may not be too precise due to load/no-load, but don't worry about that. Once you find where the 5V rail is, measure it and report back. If you get no voltage on it or any of the other pins on the output connector, post some pictures of your board. If your board is like the one rizzz posted pictures of, you may have the same issue - i.e. possibly bad SMPS IC. Also highly advisable you replace all of the small electrolytic caps on the primary side. Those can be responsible for the PSU not working. And on that note, before purchasing caps, you can try the following trick: use a hair dryer and heat the board up to the point where it feels very warm to the touch (though not burning hot.) Then plug the board in and see if you can measure any output voltages or if the monitor will power on. Report back what results you get from all of this, if/when you can.
