Toshiba 28YT56 Vestel 11AK49-7 chassis

Hi,

Got one of these old huge CRT tele's in to repair for a friend. I wouldn't have touched it otherwise as it's a 2 man lift!

Anyway, the problem is it just trips about 1 sec intervals with...

Re: Vox mini 3 amp

I'm sure you'll find many tutorials on Youtube. I can't recommend any specific ones as I've never needed to look.
I've sent you a PM with my mail address. If you reply I'll send you the instruction...

Re: Vox mini 3 amp

Yep, that would appear to be the case as that's the usual problem.
I can send you a board but I suspect you'll need to find someone to fit it for you.
I could do it here but the postage costs each...

Re: Vox mini 3 amp

Hi Andrei,

The quick check is to test the resistance between the speaker leads and ground.
Make sure it's turned off and then check the resistance with the speaker disconnected from both leads to...

Re: Behringer Eurorack UB2442FX-PRO Bad Capacitors

Hi,

I would also get rid of that gunk that was holding the cap on the mixer board. This stuff goes conductive after a few years and I find it unbelievable that some manufacturers still use it....

Re: Tannoy Reveal 6D

Looks like you're almost there. I can't remember now when L1 failed on mine whether it was down to one of the ic's on the other boards. I'm sure it won't take you long to find it.

Interesting that...

Re: Tannoy Reveal 6D

Hi TJC,

Can't say I've ever done it that way although not a bad idea.
Normally I'd use Eagle CAD which is pretty time consuming to try and get an exact replica.

Just a thought and I'm no...

Re: Vox mini 3 amp

Hi,
I suppose you could just extend the connections from the existing jack socket as it looks like it just signal and ground. I don't know what the voltage level is presented there so you may need...

Re: Vox mini 3 amp

Hi Ben7,

I didn't want to complicate the board more than needed although I suppose you only have to click a button on the CAD software, also I didn't want too much exposed area of copper that...

Re: Ups es500 back-up plus no power

From my experience of APC UPS's if the batteries are very low nothing appears to work at all. More often than not just changing the batteries is all you need to do.
You can often pick APC UPS's up...

Re: Transformer identification

Received a reply this morning and the actual windings are :-

0/100/115/215/240v
0/9.5v 14.5/0/14.5v

Not sure how I got those strange figures before on the centre tapped winding but hey ho!...

Re: Transformer identification

I've tried shoving 50Hz at 1v up the secondary single winding and get 21v across the top set of tags and 13-0-13v across the tapped bottom set.

So I would calculate (with lots of assumptions) that...

Re: Laptop power adapter repair.

Glad you isolated the FET. I usually find the FET has gone but on replacement nothing. You may find there's a zener (20v ish) feeding from a metal oxide resistor (if its good quality). The zener...

Re: Laptop power adapter repair.

Did you check the FET too?
Whenever I work on switch mode PSU's I always put a low wattage light bulb in series with the mains, saves blowing up all the new components until you locate the cause.

Re: Transformer identification

Lets see,

The top set of pins left to right measure :-
0--37.9--0--141--0--8.3--0--45--0 (quite odd for mains)

and the bottom set :-
0--1.8--0 0--8.0--0--8.3--0

Have sent a mail to the...
