btw, isnt it time Australia outlawed house wiring where wires are twisted with piers, badly soldered, wrapped in pvc tape, then shoved into the cavity?

NO.
the only 2pin connectors are on shavers and the only sockets for them are on adaptors or striplights for bathroom mirrors.

ALL sockets must have ground, ground and neutral are bonded at the...

each plug is usually for an individual tube.

bdw, you shoud not have had to seperate the plastic layers from each other or the thick plastic or glass.

there is an opertunity here.

the government should get some decent sockets/plugs designed - probably based on European ones.
then pass a law saying all new or re-wired property's must use them...

if you want to get around address-blocks use a different DNS and not your isp one - SPECIALLY if your in the u.k. on Virgin-Media!!!

nothing wrong with broadcom if you put a heatsink on them.
or more to the point, if the manufacturer puts a heatsink on them.

try looking for better firmware.

fix the joints and then clean the flux off with IPA

fixing joints costs nothing, so it's always worth a try.

look for faint rings around the joints like a halo

check for cracked soldering on the power and invertor boards.

it sounds thermal and that usually ends up being fractured soldering.

for a start, anything with "p" on the end is pico-power and can run at much lower voltage & current.

it's almost fun if you have the pin extraction tool.

you can get a kit with a bunch of shells and the tools to extract the 4pin harddrive and the ATX type pins from places like ebuyer.

problem solved,
the ram is retained down to 1.3v

so use a coincell-holder and a 1n4148 diode.
