Re: Vox mini 3 amp

If you're using a cheap condenser mic the output level will probably be too high.

The trim doesn't cut the volume completely. Most reasonable dynamic mics I've tried it with are fine.

Re: Tannoy Reveal 6D

For the failing resistors probably quite a few, with the gunk I expect eventually all of them!!

Re: Tannoy Reveal 6D

Wow, they really went to town on that gunk!

I'm wondering how that heatshrink will hold up over time. From memory those resistors ran pretty warm.

Re: Vox mini 3 amp

Hi,

$2, you did well there.
There are still no schematics that I'm aware of I'm afraid.
The regulator should put out 5v, I forget what type of device it is now but I do remember it's a common...

Re: Tannoy Reveal 6D

I'd like to see some pics when you have a moment.

Those 120 Ohm standup ceramic resistors are a pain to source. I think the originals were 5W rated but the only place I could get them from was the...

Re: Tannoy Reveal 6D

It's a shame the lifetime of these monitors are let down by the use of that gunk. It's not as if it isn't well known that this happens, why they couldn't have just used silicone!!

Re: Tannoy Reveal 6D

Hi,

Yep, I think I did need to remove some, can't remember which now as it was a long time ago. The worst bit was getting it off the connectors although yours doesn't seem to have any, which is...

Re: Vox mini 3 amp

Hi Eduard,

That doesn't sound like the daughterboard will help you. The output to the headphones comes before the amp output so you would need to delve further back in the circuit.
As there are...

Kustom Sienna 16W

Just had one of these acoustic amps in with the symptom of blowing fuses. There's no info on these on the web so I was hoping it was going to be a fairly generic design.
Luckily it was, TDA 2050 as...

Fender passport 300 pro

Just had this one on the bench which was blowing mains fuses. Couldn't find any tech info on line for this model so I was hoping it was going to be something simple on the mains side.

Opening up...

Re: Tannoy Reveal 6D

Yep, those screws can be tricky and the transformer has to be removed too. A good fitting screwdriver bit is essential and I suspect an impact driver may have been useful too although I don't posses...

Re: Tannoy Reveal 6D

It wasn't me that made the PCB so I don't have any PCB layout info. See a few posts back for the link to the guy who made his own.

Re: Need glue to fix broken outer casing of Supra-Aural JBL headphones

Is this stuff the same (or similar) to plastic waste pipe cement? You can buy a fairly large pot cheaper.

Re: Tannoy Reveal 6D

Hi Don,

Glad you've got them OK. It's always good to have a look at the diagrams.
Well done for fixing it, why don't you let everyone know what you did as I'm sure there will be lots of interest.
