well just remember that not all bios's interface using the same method, most are LPC but not all.
and most are PLCC package - soldered down.
if your real unlucky it may be a 40pin TSOP package!

lift the keyboard up and the dark brown bit on the connecter lifts a couple of mm to release the cable.
(i have an a100)

remove the harddrive & wifi card & see if it works before you strip it....
