Got a used HP Elitebook 855 G7, I noticed MPM errors, bios errors, missing SN, product N, featurebyte and so on. gave seller to fix and collect it after 2days. on receiving the PC I noticed touch-screen not working, when I checked more details, found out it has been given DMI details of HP Elitebook 845 G7, instead of HP Elitebook 855 G7. seller has refused to help further. I have a Dell Vostro 3501 and not power on. The 3V and 5V are present, but 1.8V is missing. I looked at PU1801 according to the schematic, and it's not receiving an enable signal. Any ideas where to check next? I think that signal comes from the PCH.

The PC (an i7-4770) first took about 30 seconds to show the logo, then I updated the bios from DOS to the latest version 2.71. It did the update and when I restarted it died. The light on the motherboard is green, and the power button is fixed white, no beep, if I try to press the button again the PC turns off normally. I also tried to reprogram the bios using the CH341A programmer, but it does the same thing.

I am trying to repair my Samsung Chromebook Pro. There is no boot. Upon turning on, the screen is blank and there is no backlight. Power LED is blue. I tried refresh with power and esc refresh with power with no avail.

I just replaced the battery on a Google Pixel 5.
After that the proximity sensor isn't functioning properly any more. It is constantly activated. So when playing a voice message on Whatsapp, the Screen instantly turns off.
Checking with a sensor app I can verify weird behavior of the sensor. It is triggered when nothing is near and sometimes works correctly when squeezing the phone next to the sensor hole.
The rubber seal is on again (as mentioned in various suggestions in other forums).

This smells like a cold or broken solder joint. So I'd like to reflow...

Hi, I am waiting for my uart tool so I can grab an error code and narrow down where my issue is, but I decided to measure capacitors and fuses to insure everything was okay.

The PS5 turns on with a blue light and a beep for 1-2 seconds then turns off. I noticed a grey capacitor measures no voltage on standby or input power. Does this indicate a problem with the capacitor or something down on the line? I’m getting 3.3v on input with the red cap next to the grey one, and 5.2v on input with the red cap further away from the grey cap.

Hello. I am working on a circuit board that is part of a motorized HDTV lift. The circuit board belongs to the controller component that tells the motor to either raise or lower the HDTV height.

The controller started sparking when the 29V power supply was attached and the green light on the power supply would go out as soon as it was plugged into the controller board. This indicated a shorted component and I was able to identify which component it is that is causing the short. When I remove this component, the short is cleared.

The problem is finding a replacement component....

Hi! I wanted to upgrade a few low-power HP mini from a Pentium Gold to i3-i5 processors.
But, I noticed, that the motherboard or BIOS doesn't let it work on 35W, it caps CPU at around 20W, even if I put 65W i5 processor.
Cooling is not a factor, even with normal CPU temperature, it doesn't go over 20W and has a mediocre performance.
All power adapters are 65W+, I also tested with 120W adapter which works fine with a high power HP 800 G5 i5 that has a different heatsink and spins processor to 65-70W without any issues.
I'm not looking for a 20W->65W jump, just would like...
