by Super360Hi as you can see from title, I have a samsung tv here that will show the smart tv logo and then no picture after that even hitting input or menu on remote and shows nothing but the backlight still appears to be on. The tv will turn itself off after a minute or so automatically. I'm somewhat confused if this is either a eeprom problem or a bad led strip problem. The power supply makes a pretty noticeable humming sound when it's turned on leading me to believe one of the leds are shorted but idk honestly. Any of you guys have any help for me? I have a good multi meter and can take pictures of whatever...04-13-2024, 10:05 PM

by stingerWhen I turn tv on, the backlights come on but there is no sound or picture. I have read that these tv's have problems with the panels going bad but the "no sound" has me questioning if the main board is bad. Is there a way to troubleshoot the main board to determine if that is the problem?Today, 03:06 PM

by crosswindsHello,
So, pulled a motherboard out from storage, was working when put away, wont post when I took it out of storage today.
Since it was working, and it looks to be essentially time that killed it I figured its a good idea to replace the caps before digging further.
Looks to be only good quality caps on this board, so might not be the issue. But it is closing in on 20 years now so, wont hurt i guess
Its a ASUS P5VDZ-MX board.
I would really appreciate some assistance on what the best replacement caps would be for these:

by BabbarI found a project in the electronics trash yesterday. A nice Argon SA1 audio amp with some electrical issue. Took it apart and saw that the 4A250V fuse was blown so started lifting components to find the short. Eventually got to two MOSFETs (model FTA14N50C) that are shorted and when i took them out the short was gone.
Now i didn't have any replacements of the same model of course but i found a couple with pretty similar spec i thought (K10A60D & K12A50D) and put them in. Also replaced the blown fuse with a 3.5A250V one. Checked another time for short circuit and plugged it in....04-12-2024, 01:12 AM -

by norbiszokeHello,
We have this set here in our shop that is not ginving sign of life besides red light that is blinking one time after pressing the button and nothing more... After detaching the mainboard from the PSU (this set has separate board thank god?! or not...) the backlight comes on. After reattaching nothing besides red light.... Can anyone from the forum help me here? Thank you in advance. Here's a link with images of the mainboard and the memory IC's that are on it.

by trepachkaSee attached image. It says "X322" on it. This is a follow-up to my previous posted topic. The issue is upon lid closing, the screen turns off. When lid is opened, the screen remains dark.
This component is positioned right on the edge of the motherboard and has like a cradle made inside the case. I am assuming this component is used as a lid close sensor.
Please, help me identify it. Thank you....Yesterday, 03:26 PM -
